Stop Asian Hate

The upsurge of Anti-Asian sentiment and hate crimes is disgusting. While the racism we face is nothing new it is now obvious that those with such hateful views think they can exercise it through targeted violence.

Growing up as an Asian-American there were numerous experiences and stories that have shown me bigotry, xenophobia, and racism were and are ever-present.

My work showcases three flowers of Asian origin being contained, suffocated, and examined. The Chrysanthemum, The Lotus, The Orchid.

Despite the harrowing circumstances they can thrive and remain resilient.

I sought to represent the emotions that are being felt. The anger, sadness, and grief. The understanding of the Asian experience. The hope that we can all stand together and overcome.

This is a stance against racial discrimination and violence. #StopAsianHate #StopAPPIHate
